Tourism WA has just announced new funding grants for visitor centres in regional West Australia. And Wayfound can help you apply for a grant and complete a business plan.
Grants are available through Royalties for Regions funding to improve the sustainability of Regional Visitors Centres. Funding of $4.2million will be distributed throughout regional WA over the next 3 years, with $1.1 million available for 2015/16.
Grants of $10,000 to $100,000 (on a matching funds or in-kind basis) are available to accredited visitor centres and can be used for a variety of purposes including:
- Engaging consultants to develop and implement a new business plan and/or governance structure.
- Developing a pop-up visitor centre to reduce overall costs.
- Accreditation support.
- Setting up incorporated bodies.
- Internal and/or external signage.
- Image and appearance (internal or external).
- Brochure racks.
- Technology solutions (including apps or kiosks).
- Upgrading and/or installing security measures.
Non-accredited visitor centres can apply for grants of $10,000 to $40,000. Guidelines about the grant program are available here.
To apply, you must complete an application form and return it to Tourism Western Australia before 5pm (WST) Monday, 31 August, 2015. Applications for funding above $40,000 must include a business plan.
