Wongan Hills Tourism Group – Reynoldson Reserve Interpretive signage

Background

Reynoldson’s Flora Reserve in Wongan Hills displays a stunning array of colour between October and December each year when the wildflowers are out in bloom with over 1,400 species of flowering plants with 24 species unique to Wongan Hills.

Some years ago the Wongan Hills Tourism Group created an interpretive walk trail within the reserve with interpretive panels describing the various flowering plants. These interpretive panels had completely failed due to the materials used and the hi UV environment at Reynoldson Reserve.

Solution

We worked with the project officer to develop interesting and engaging sign panels using organic shapes and stylised artwork to break up the rectangular panel shape. Because of extreme nature of the environment at the reserve we recommended that the new signs be photographically produced on anodic aluminium panels. Whilst these panels are significantly more expensive than printed vinyl they are guaranteed for 10 years where as the printed vinyl will at best last 5 years.

Deliverables

  • Suite of 11 interpretive panels

We are thrilled with the new Reynoldson Reserve signs, they are fresh and modern and look great out at the reserve. Wayfound were great to deal with and very helpful with any changes that needed to be done.
