Background
Great Southern Treasures (formerly Hidden Treasures of the Great Southern) commissioned Wayfound to plan design and build a new website to promote the towns and attractions of the Great Southern region of Western Australia.
With the project officer, Wayfound scoped and clarified the requirements to plan the new website. The objective was to make the towns and attractions more prominent and compelling to entice visitors to the area. A greater emphasis on high-quality photography was one solution along with better navigation and organisation of town and regional information.
During the planning process it was decided that the regional and town maps were poor quality. So new maps were also created.
Deliverable
- The website, which includes an interactive map will be live in early 2019.
- Regional and town maps that can be used online, in print and on signs.

The Hidden Treasures of the Great Southern was an outdated website that was difficult to navigate and even harder to update and maintain. We wanted a site that could be used on all mobile devices, catering to our main target audience – tourists. We also wanted to use Wayfound with the long-term plan of developing an app.
Wayfound understood the brief and we have ended up with a website that looks professional and can be updated easily. This will mean more use of the site as a way to post relevant and interesting content, communicate news and events and keeping information current.
A few of our goal posts changed and Wayfound were very accommodating. Aside from delivering the new website and WordPress training, they also worked with us on a name change, new logo and a new regional visitors map. We feel very happy with the result.
