The Town of Port Hedland has identified a requirement to review and improve its signage and to develop a stand alone signage style guide. The ToPH had recently updated its branding and corporate identity and the new signage style guide needed to incorporate the new ToPH branding and corporate identity.

The new ToPH corporate style guide is very limited and barely covers signage and it has become apparent that this gap needs to be filled. It also does not provide guidance to assist staff within all areas of the organisation to apply the new branding to signage across the Town of Port Hedland assets. This has resulted a lack of cohesion with most areas producing their own signage in an ad-hoc fashion.

Wayfound began the project by first undertaking a site visit to Town of Port Hedland. During our visit we recorded all signage applications across the Town of Port Hedland branded assets. This included everything from civic centres, sports facilities, parks to the towns waste recycling centre.
Once we had all of the application requirements we then began the development of the signage style guide and adapting all of the newly established brand assets to use across signage.

The new signage style guide covers everything from town entry statements, facility signage, parks & recreation and regulatory signage and can be adapted to other signage applications as the need arises.
