If you’re in Albany try and make a point of walking or riding the Port to Point shared path trail between the Albany town centre and Emu Point. The path is just over 12kms long and takes in the Port and Point King headland before dropping down and following the shoreline of Middleton Beach before reaching Emu Point at the mouth of Oyster Harbour.

Wayfound made a site visit to meet with and walk the trail with the City of Albany Environment Department project officer.  This visit helped determine the location for five interpretive nodes and their related themes. These themes are Coastal Erosion, Middleton Beach Flora & Fauna, Shore Birds, Whales and King George Sound. Once the themes were determined we engaged a historian to research and write the content  for each interpretive node. Each node also incorporates  a brief quiz for children to participate and QR codes linking to various free apps such as Australian Bird Sounds and Frog ID We also developed a common wayfinding map panel for each interpretive node. These sign are currently being fabricated and installed along the trail.
