TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS ARE A PRIORITY.
Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) is the Commonwealth Government’s funding programs aimed at creating jobs, economic growth and building stronger regional and remote communities.
Round 3 is now open, with grant applications due no later than 15 November 2018. $200 million is available, with up to $45 million for tourism related infrastructure projects.
The grants are open to local governments and not-for-profits and can be up to $10million. Matching funds are generally needed.
Tourism related projects funded in the previous rounds included mountain biking trails, visitor centres, visitor information bays, regional visitor signage, entry signs, trail hubs, camping facilities, Indigenous tourism infrastructure, digital infrastructure, precincts, playgrounds, etc. Here’s the full list of successful projects for Round 1 and Round 2.
