Wentworth Shire, located in the far south-west Riverina region of New South Wales, encompasses an area of 26,269 square kilometres and is home to a population of 7,500+. The Shire is positioned alongside the Murray and Darling Rivers and includes the towns of Wentworth, Buronga, Gol Gol, Dareton, and Pooncarie. Major transport routes within the Shire are the Sturt Highway (National) and the Silver City Highway (NSW State). The region boasts a diverse array of tourist attractions, ranging from Mungo National Park to museums, arts and crafts, wineries, and restaurants.
In a comprehensive project, Wayfound conducted an audit and GPS mapping of all signage and tourism infrastructure within Wentworth Shire. This process identified gaps in signage and provided detailed recommendations on the type and placement of new signs, including messages and pictographs for the missing signs. The findings were compiled into a thorough Tourism Signage Strategy, highlighting best practices, a complete signage audit, and actionable recommendations for improvements.
Wayfound was an easy choice when selecting a contractor to work with for our recent tourism signage strategy.
The whole project was completed in a timely manner and made incredibly simple for us to review and complete, especially for such an overwhelming task. Kim was great to get along with and had an eye for detail, which was definitely needed for this major project. I would definitely use and recommend Wayfound again in the future for any related projects.
